In life we come across different experiences, situations, problems and joys… we deal with good or bad… but in the moments when the real tragedy touches us we feel powerless and that’s when we look forward to a friendly gesture, a helpful hand, from friends and family as well as complete strangers.

Belvedere Charity Foundation is organizing another share of aid. This time, our gifts will go to Zambia, African, or more strictly to the Polish mission in Mpanshya, run by the Sisters of Mercy St. Karol Borromeo. We would like to turn to you, asking you to look at the sometimes overcrowded closets and basements, because what is needed most in Mpanshya is not necessarily new things. Polish sisters call for a response to their two programs – "MOMS 4 MOMS" and "NOAH'S ARK".

"Moms 4 Moms" is a program designed to encourage African moms to give birth in a missionary hospital, thanks to which newborns will be tested, vaccinated and mothers will be given the necessary assistance. In other cases, about half of babies dye – along with huge number of moms, as part of where the cause of death is infection. Hence, Sister Jozefa encourages them to come to the hospital by offering clothing for the baby and hygienic supplies for mothers. By joining this action, we collect clothes for babies, blankets, diapers, soap and powder for the newborns, as well as sanitary "overnight" napkins.

"Noah's Ark" is a program that serves African children who are under the care of the mission. In Zambia, for 10 million inhabitants 25% are infected with HIV. Zambia is also a country, which "boasts" the world's largest, incredible amounts of orphaned children - at the moment it is over 1 million orphans. Mission of St. Lukasz is in which Polish sisters are working since 1978 to maintain an orphanage and a school. For those children, we are collecting books in English, coloring books, crayons, pencils, pens and any other school supplies from erasers to scissors, but also simple board games and puzzles.

We believe that thanks to your help, we'll manage to accumulate new and used goods, which will be sent to Mpanshya. We also ask for Cash donations, which will allow us to cover all the shipping costs. Let's help the African kids – they need very, very little to be happy.
